Why does it matter where fashion designers show their collections?

Have you ever wondered why Matthew Williamson presents his collections in New York, Christopher Kane in London, and Stella McCartney in Paris?
Each city means something different for designers...

London - Get noticed
New York - Get financial backer
Milan - Get a manufacturer
Paris - Relax, you've made it
This is a great article for those of you who are interested and you can read it here!

Britt - very interesting and handy article find. Thanks. It's interesting (and spot on) that in all the shows I attended last week, I saw and met tons of buyers. I never thought about the cycle that way. - Jean

Thanks so much for all your comments Jean! I too found this article to be very interesting. Lucky you to have attended shows at NY Fashion Week. I would have loved to! Which shows were your favorites?
